Imaging From a Higher Perspective

In Flight Robotics Inc. is the premier provider of high value, cost effective, drone produced digital assets in South-east British Columbia. Combining our advanced drone technology with cutting edge, industry leading software, and our extreme attention to detail, IFR assures that your data is complete, concise, and accurate. Whether you are looking for high accuracy volumetrics, high resolution orthomosaic mapping or 3d models, critical infrastructure inspections, or need photos or video captured, we have the solution for you.
Drone technology has come a long way in the last several years, and In Flight Robotics is proud to be on the leading edge. Our crews are trained on the latest methods for data capture and processing, thereby providing highly accurate and dependable deliverables.
The advantages of using drones are numerous and include:

-
Rapid data acquisition when compared to traditional methods. Not only can we collect the data quickly, raw data can be delivered immediately, and final products can be delivered in short order.
-
Higher safety margins - by collecting data remotely, the need for scaffolds, ladders, rope access, and other specialized equipment required by traditional methods is eliminated. This results in safer work sites and huge cost savings. Remote data collection in dangerous terrain, putting workers at risk, is eliminated using our systems.
-
Dependable, repeatable data - Once we have a mission planned, it can be repeated exactly time and time again. The data produced is exact, and creates a perfect record reviewable by any stakeholder.
-
Quick response times - traditional methods of data collection often need to be organized weeks, or months ahead, often times waiting for crews and equipment to be mobilized. IFR can respond quickly, getting your critical data assets within hours in some instances.
-
Less site incursion - Because of the remote nature of drones, you don’t need to stop your operations while the drone is collecting information. This means fewer stoppages, and less incursion of crews on your site to collect data.
-
Cost savings - spending money on outdated, time consuming, and dangerous traditional methods is no longer necessary. In Flight Robotics will save you money.

Thanks to Aerial Parks Safety and Consultation for allowing us to assist them in a line pull this week. Line pulling consists of puling a lightweight line across an obstacle in order to pull heavier ropes across for many uses, including utilities, rope access, and rescue.
This mission was complicated by no landing and take off zones on the rim of the canyon, tight access areas blocked by trees, and restricted flight areas. In Flight Robotics worked with Aerial Parks to find a solution to get the line across the canyon in a quick, safe way, resulting in fewer people hours, and a higher level of safety due to access. We completed the job in 20 minutes, whereas using traditional means, it could take a full day, several crew, and much higher risk due to the nature of the terrain. We love these kinds of missions, that offer us a challenge, and that we get to collaborate with awesome forward thinking companies and their crews!
Check out the capabilities of DJI's Matrice 300 RTK and the P1 mapping solution. In Flight Robotics is happy to be an early adopter of this technology, and we have it available now! Contact us for more information, or for a demo of it's capabilities!
The Kicking Horse Canyon twinning project is expected to begin in spring of 2021. We went out and filmed the canyon in autumn of 2020 in order to create archival footage, before the iconic single lane highway gets replaced by a modern twinned highway. This highway is the #1 Trans-Canada highway that connects Canadians from coast to coast, and this canyon is the gateway from the interior of British Columbia to the rest of Canada.
